ABOUT US
Alpaca Acres of Addison was established in 2003 in Addison,
Michigan on the 40-acre family farm where my wife grew up.
Addison is a quiet little farming community situated in the south central area of Michigan known as the "Irish Hills". The Irish
Hills are home to some of Michigans pristine spring fed lakes,
challenging golf courses, beautiful agricultural land, and of
course Michigan International Speedway.
I fell in love with Alpacas on my first encounter with them and
immediately started my investigation process of how I could get
started raising them. One aspect of the business that appealed
to me was how everyone I met that was raising Alpacas was
living a lifestyle that really was quite tranquil and enjoyable to
them. I had grown up on a farm in Vermont and after spending
20 years in the military and an additional 5 years in the suburbs
of Detroit, engrossed in a manufacturing environment I felt it
was time for me to make a change, that change is Alpacas and
they have taken me back to my roots growing up on a farm.
